The NCASI Foundation and the US Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program have partnered to fund research into national forest inventory (NFI)-based small area estimation techniques. This research will help improve estimates of forest resources using technologies such as remote sensing combined with NFI data for small areas or time periods. This Partnership for Small Area Estimation is releasing a Request for Proposals for Phase I funding.
